Charity of the Year
Highland Business Women supports and raises funds for a chosen charity each year. Our aim is to work closely with the chosen charity, raising awareness of its cause and promoting any ongoing projects or campaigns.
We proactively raise funds for the chosen charity at raffles at each of our events, as well as at our annual Highland Business Women Awards Dinner in August.
- In 2021/22 we raised £6,000 for Mikeysline.
- In 2020, we raised £4,500 for Fèis Rois.
- In 2019, we raised £5,300 for The Oxygen Works.
- In 2018, we raised £4,000 for The Elsie Normington Foundation’s Haven Project.
Charity of the Year 2023
Calman Trust
Calman Trust support young people aged 14-25 who are at risk of being left behind as a result of their personal challenges.
The Calman offer of practical learning and individual support equips young people to progress at their own pace towards and develop the skills and understanding they need to manage independent living, leading to a readiness for employment, and the tools to sustain this. Young people can join at any point, depending on their stage and future plans.
All their opportunities are available to young people as individuals or in small groups. Time is taken to establish a relationship with each young person, where they can understand and feel understood, where prior adverse experience is addressed. Each young person has a plan which is ‘owned’ and meaningful, their progress measured and communicated clearly.
Charity of the Year 2024

Our charity of the year is selected each year in January by our member. Applications are usually open during December and details of this will appear here nearer that time.
