Charity of the Year

Highland Business Women supports and raises funds for a chosen charity each year. Our aim is to work closely with the chosen charity, raising awareness of its cause and promoting any ongoing projects or campaigns.

We proactively raise funds for the chosen charity at raffles at each of our events, as well as at our annual Highland Business Women Awards Dinner in March.

In 2018, we raised £4,000 for the Elsie Normington Foundation’s Haven Project, which aims to build a specially adapted facility for children and young people with learning disabilities.

2019 Charity of the Year

Our chosen charity for this year is The Oxygen Works, originally called the MS Therapy Centre Inverness. The Oxygen Works has grown significantly and continues to help people with a variety of medical conditions.

The centre was purpose-built in 1992 through the efforts of a group of local people living with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). After four years of fundraising, with help from friends, families and the local business community, the centre opened its doors.

Since the centre opened it has been providing practical and emotional support to all of its members; offering access to a wide range of therapies, allowing people the opportunity to self-manage their symptoms.

Find out more about The Oxygen Centre via their website.
